Fractured storytelling with a poetic approach to lyrical content from a very real and experienced perspective is Shawn's approach. Simple songs. A stripped down confessional. Sparse acoustic guitar, simple arrangements, and subtle vocals telling tales that have the potential to touch many ears. Perhaps yours? Shawn was born in Chicago, "but we didn't stay long. I was an only child raised by my mom. My father took off when I was born. Mom did whatever she could to put a roof over her kid's head. We moved everywhere. From Wisconsin to California and points between. I've seen a lot of places and met a lot of folks". It was never easy for Shawn. He grew up poorer than poor with a family looking for a place to call home. "We settled in California, mom found work and we got on with it". The hard road of rough and tumble had threathened, but never took Shawn's hope away. "I grew up listening to all kinds of music, from country to rock to radio pop, just took it all in. I always knew I wanted to sing, so after years of writing words that found no home, I started writing my own songs. I'm a songwriter and a storyteller. Please, enjoy a story".
